Ralph Benedict's Bayou Music Festival. Pictured L-R: Rabbit, Colonel P.A. Walter I

Little is known about Ralph Benedict except that he hosted Ralph Benedict's Bayou Music Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1898. It is speculated that Mr. Benedict has personal connections with Colonel Peter A. Walter I.

Uncle RalphieEdit

Considering that "Steamboat Shenanigans" mentions rivers, steamboats, and sasparilla, it is possible that the song takes place on the Louisianan bayous. The events of the song could be inspired by the events of Ralph Benedict's Bayou Music Festival, making it likely (but unconfirmed) that there is a link between the mentioned tuba-bound "Uncle Ralphie" and Mr. Ralph Benedict of the Bayou Music Festival.
